What is depression? It is a psychological disorder that is fairly common. This disorder can cause you to not only have emotional symptoms but physical symptoms as well. If you think you may be depressed you should seek the help of a professional immediately because this is not a usual problem that you can handle on your own. Some of the symptoms to look for are lose of interest in things that you once enjoyed, you may start to feel hopeless, and start to shut out the people in your life.

A person with Atypical or Dysthymic depression which is pretty similar actually leaves the person pretending that they are happy most of the time. These peoples happiness is pretty much dependent on the world around them. They may feel happiness and sadness at the same time. They try to live as if they are happy even though they are not.

Psychotic depression is where the person suffers hallucinations. Patients with this can often hear, see, and even feel things that are not real. This type of depression can actually turn into insanity. It is by far the worst possible form that anyone can get. If you know anyone with any of these symptoms who are not seeking help, it is important that you provide or get them assistance immediately and help them on how to deal with their depression.
